CLMA empowers laboratory professionals through forward-thinking educational, networking, and advocacy opportunities in leadership and health-care management.
Shared Values
CLMA’s core values are intended to guide CLMA members, leaders, and staff in implementing the strategic plan. Utilize our Website
- For timely announcements and links to what is new both locally and on a national front.
- Spotlight our members periodically.
- Educate our membership about Good Practice Sharing (GPS) at our Spring Event.
Create network opportunities
- Provide a “Meet and Greet” committee at all of our events and have one networking activity to bring together like interests with a member/nonmember.
- Encourage our members to get involved by inviting them to join committees- have at least 1 non-Board member added to each committee by the end of 2008.
- Hold a membership only meeting to get to know each other and have “fun”.
Stay involved with regulations and advocacy
- Keep our membership informed of all local updates through timely postings on our website.
- Hold PAC events at each membership event and set goals for donations collected.
- Target our current and future students by inviting them to our events through incentives.
- Attend career days to promote our field and bring awareness for CLMA.
- Send letters to students currently enrolled in the CLS programs.
- Explore further involvement with National legislative issues and advocate for the laboratory field.
Provide an opportunity for Industry Partners to support our organization through sponsorships
- In collaboration with our Industry Partners, provide high quality educational events.
- Build relationships with our Industry Partners and understand their needs.
- Create additional types of sponsorship options other then educational events.
Increase our membership base through education and mentorship opportunities
- Encourage our members to bring non-members to events by offering incentives- i.e. raffles or free registrations.
- Take the first steps toward building a mentorship pool for our members to pull from.
- Explore scholarship options for our members either to Thinklab or other educational opportunities and tie the return on investment to active participation in our Chapter.
- Provide members only teleconferences/audio labs provided by the National office or vendor sponsored at networking meetings.
